The Brattleboro Rotary Club inducted Vermont native and local businesswoman June Howe as its 58th club president and third woman to fill the position in the club's history. Howe's term runs from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.
 
Howe is a Certified Financial Planner who operates her own independent advising business, Howe Financial Services, out of the Marlboro College Technology Center in Brattleboro. Her clients include local business owners, families, and employees who need to understand the complex issues in finance, regulation, and taxation.

With more than 25 years of experience in financial and operations management in both small manufacturing and large service companies, such as United Parcel Service (UPS), Howe holds a Chartered Financial Consultant designation and is a Certified College Planner. She is currently working toward a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Howe has been active in the Brattleboro Rotary Club since 2002, serving for three years on the Board of Directors prior to assuming the role of president. In 2006, the club presented her with a Paul Harris Fellow Award for her service contributions. Howe's fellow board members this year include: President-Elect Norm Kuebler, Treasurer Phil Turner, Secretary Cindy Jerome, Vice-President Donna McElligott, Past-President Chris Chapman, Jody Haley, Liz Jones, Rick Manson, and Jeff Morse.

Raised in Eden, Vermont, Howe graduated summa cum laude from Franklin Pierce College in 1998 with a degree in finance. She and her husband Bob reside in Dummerston and have a second home on Lake Eden in the Northeast Kingdom.

The Brattleboro Rotary Club, founded in 1950, is an active community service club of about 90 members. It engages in community and human service projects locally and internationally. The club has weekly meetings at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at the Quality Inn and Conference Center on Putney Road in North Brattleboro.
