President Bob opened the meeting.
 
President Bob extended a warm welcome to Art Wing, Past District Governor.
 
Register reported that 20 Rotarians plus our guest Art Wing were in attendance.
 
Happy Bucks was handled by Rotarian Don.
 
Jim M -recognized efforts of Canadian Hockey championship team at World Juniors.
Shirley- Had a really cool Christmas with family.
Bob M- Fun Christmas with 6 year grandson.
Grant- Happy to have had 15 people sleeping over the Christmas Holidays.
Roger- Observed that 35 year children still act like kids on Christmas morning.
Sandy- Enjoyed Grandchildren
Marty- Spent day with young grandchildren. Busy time.
Marshall- Enjoyed hockey season and Jim H birthday party.
Jeanette- Took train to Montreal to spend Christmas with Shane.
Kathryn- Has a grandson on Canadian lacrosse team.
Bill-  Seven curling games this week.
Jim H - Happy to have some down time after a very hectic Christmas season including celebrating an important birthday.
 
Art Wing provide an overview of The Rotary Foundation which is one of the top foundations in the world which supports efforts such as PolioPlus , substantial projects around globe that promote peace, maternal and child health, clean water and sanitation , basis education and projects that grow local economies in underdeveloped countries.
Rotary District 7090 is undertaking fundraising campaign to raise one million dollars by May 2015.  Art encouraged members to make individual contributions  to the Foundation.He noted that the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation will match 2:1 provided gifts are made in the next 2 years. George thanked Art for his presentation.
 
Past President presented slate of Directors for the year starting 2015. The slate of Directors was confirmed by the membership.
 
As this meeting was a General Assembly each of the existing Directors presented a brief review of their area of responsibility.
 
President Bob noted that 8 members will be attending the Can Am Rotary Bonspiel in Kingston next week and as a result there will be no speaker at the January 15th meeting. Jim M will let Hotel know that the attendance at this meeting will be lower than normal.
