What is Cornhole?

One of America's favorite BBQ and lawn games continues to grow across the country, into a thriving and competitive community! Competitive Cornhole has evolved from backyard roots to nationally televised matches. The sport is growing rapidly with the help of the American Cornhole League and the American Cornhole Association.

How do you play?

Players or teams on opposite sides of each other take turns throwing a bean bag at a board that's angled 12 inches above the ground. You'll see that our Tournament boards are highly customized to show off our Tournament Sponsors. The objective is simply to get the bean bag inside the 6-inch diameter hole that's 9 inches down from the top of the board.

What are the rules?

Each player has 20 seconds to throw their bean bag onto the other board during each "inning". The official rules created by the American Cornhole Association state 27 feet as the proper distance between boards for professional or Tournament games.

Each team alternates tossing the bean bag underhand onto the board until all four bean bags for each team are thrown. The player's feet must stay behind the leading edge of the board during each throw. Once all bean bags are thrown, each team will collect and begin the next inning.

How is Cornhole scored?

The main objective of the game is to get the bean bag into the hole, but it’s not the only way to earn points. Throwing a bean bag onto the board gets you one point, while throwing it into the hole gets you three points. Cancellation scoring is used in cornhole, meaning one player/team earns points each inning because points are subtracted from the opponent's score. For example, if Team A scores four points and Team B earns three, then the score for Team A is one point. Whichever team reaches exactly 21 points first wins.
