Club Banner
Story Behind the Club Banner Design
The Club Banner reflects the leafy character of the suburb. Hyde Park is one of the premier suburbs of Adelaide. About 3 km south of the CBD within the City of Unley. It boasts leafy tree-lined streets, Heywood Park, The Orphanage Park and straddles Brownhill Creek (which is too often dry in summer).
The popular shopping strip of King William Road features the longest stretch of brick-paved road in the southern hemisphere and abounds with cafes, gourmet food shops, boutique clothing, a host of restaurants and specialty shops.
Founded in the early years of settlement. the suburb enjoys a mix of prestigious high-density living amongst stately landed homes many of which were established between the two world wars. Regular and ad hoc community events include: the annual street party held the night before and the following day's start of the southern leg of the Tour Down Under international cycle race; the start of the Variety Club's fundraising Bash; SALA (South Australia Living Artists) - a fortnight-long exhibition and gallery of paintings; as well as many smaller events. Residents are friendly and include a representative cross-section of working couples, families with children both young and old, and senior citizens.
