Andrew Fletcher AO

Andrew Fletcher, a member of the Rotary Club of Hyde Park from 01Feb84 to 02Sep87, became an Officer of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2017. As reported in the Advertiser, Monday June 12 2017, Andrew was honoured for his "distinguished service to business, particularly in South Australian defence related industries, through his senior roles in maritime facilities, major infrastructure projects and engineering". From his early engineering career with Kinhill, Andrew has had major roles with the SA Economic Development Board, Adelaide Entertainment Centre Board, establishment of the Techport ship building precinct, Port Adelaide Maritime corporation and Defence SA and is currently leading the Rheinmetall's bid to build reconnaissance vehicles for the Australian Army.

Bernie Boxer is particularly enthused by Andrew's role with Rheinmetall because the proposed vehicles will be powered with Boxer engines.
