Yes, a tour of District 5280, or Greater Los Angeles. Beginning with Para Los Ninos, an elementary charter school, created by concerned citizens in 1980 to address a long ignored incidence of children abandoned on downtown LA streets or locked in hotel rooms while the parent(s) attended their day jobs, you will have the opportunity to visit and learn about three outstanding community projects. From downtown LA we will proceed to Rotary Plaza in Culver City. Here we will be hosted for lunch and presented with a program and tour of the facility. Rotary Plaza represents a pioneering concept, created by District 5280 Rotarians for senior citizens. The tour ends at Angel Step 2 in Bellflower. Angel Step 2 provides a refuge of safety and hope for young mothers and their young children, away from harmful and threatening environments. Residents receive schooling, social support, and personal development in a caring environment. The tour is open to all Rotarians, spouses, and friends.
