State of the Club Address
It is an honor to share with you and reflect on the strength, momentum, and spirit of our Club.
At the heart of our success is fellowship. Our fellowship sessions have had a profoundly positive impact on our Club’s dynamic. They have strengthened relationships, deepened engagement, and reminded us why we joined Rotary—to connect, to serve, and to grow together. The energy in our Club today is a direct reflection of that commitment to building meaningful connections.
That spirit of connection is also evident in our growth. We are proud to welcome five new members to our Rotary family: Nadia Stanley, Rachel Kronk, Jennifer Lim, Nelly Alonso, and Samuel Muñoz. Each of you brings unique talents and perspectives, and we are excited for the impact you will have as we continue to grow together.
Our partnerships and initiatives continue to elevate our visibility and impact. We recently collaborated with Zeffy, who sponsored six fellowships. This partnership has not only brought valuable attention to our Club but also resulted in a generous $2,000 contribution in support of our efforts hosting and spearheading these events. This is a testament to what we can achieve when we align with mission-driven partners.
In addition, our Sip & Stuff initiative continues to gain momentum. With everyone’s support and participation, we are building something truly special—an experience that has the potential to attract meaningful sponsorships and further expand our reach.
We also see tangible benefits from smart partnerships, such as our Wine Cellar Club, which has saved us over $5,000, including venue rental fees. These efficiencies allow us to reinvest more into what matters most—our service and community impact.
Collaboration remains a cornerstone of our mission. We are proud to be working alongside the Mental Health and Wellness Club on a vocational grant that will support teens facing mental health challenges—an initiative that speaks directly to Rotary’s commitment to making a difference where it is needed most.
Looking ahead, we are excited to collaborate on a Global Grant with Rachel Kronk’s mother’s Short North Rotary Club (Columbus, Ohio) focused on bringing sustainable solar power to communities in Kenya. This is a powerful example of how our local efforts can create global impact.
We have also had the privilege of collaborating with Rotary Club Blouberg in Cape Town, Africa on a program dear to our very own Dr. Bettye, further strengthening our ties within the Rotary network and honoring the passions within our own Club.
Leadership within our Club continues to rise. We are proud that Mr. Jon Smoller will be stepping up as Assistant Governor, a reflection of the leadership strength within our ranks. Additionally, our District Governor Elect Brady Connell has chosen our Club to lead the District Picnic on August 29, giving us a great chance to showcase our identity and values.
As we continue to evolve, we stay committed to accessibility while preserving our identity. A virtual option (Zoom) will continue to be available, exclusively for our DTLA members, ensuring inclusivity—while staying true to who we are as a Club. Gentle reminder that we are not a hybrid or e-Club; we are a fellowship-driven, in-person community first.
In closing, our Club is thriving—growing in membership, strengthening in fellowship, expanding in partnerships, and increasing in impact. Each of you plays a vital role in that success.
Thank you for your commitment, your energy, and your belief in what we are building together.
Let us continue to grow, serve, and lead—together.
