On Thursday, February 5, Tim Benson will be speaking to us about The Peacock Foundation, a local non-profit organization which has served many homeless children in the downtown area.

The Peacock Foundation (peacockfoundation.org) is Los Angeles’s first animal-assisted mental health program for kids. Created in 2002, the foundation set out to change the face of child counseling forever. Since then, the Peacock Foundation has served over 5,000 children and teens in Southern California. The mission of the Peacock Foundation is: To provide Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI) for at-risk youth by partnering with mental health practitioners, public service agencies, and community organizations.
