Speaker for January 3, 2013 - Darla Kim, Goodwill of Southern California, Deaf Services Program

For 40 years Darla Kim has been interested in persons who are deaf, hard of hearing and the deaf-blind. Not an interpreter, but a signer, Darla feels her role is an advocate for that population in letting the hearing population understand and embrace the truth that there is nothing wrong with being deaf - it’s a beautiful language, an interesting culture and a precious population.

In her position as Director of Program Development and Sustainability with Goodwill of Southern California, one of Darla’s responsibilities is to oversee Deaf Career Services, a program providing employment services, job preparation and related services for persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened and deaf-blind.
