Join us for our regular meeting this Thursday, September 4th, at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

Our speaker will be newly-inducted RotaryDTLA member Peter Opa. Peter is the director of The Ajara Project and president of Rethink Africa. He is passionate about issues of poverty, the environment, and girls’ education in Africa.  Having lived successfully in the U.S., he turned his American Dream into African Dream—a dream to bring hope to his impoverished village where people are dying from preventable diseases and children dropping out of school for hunger. His Food for School (FFS) initiative has helped more than 40 orphans and drop-outs graduate from elementary and high schools. Speaker and writer, his articles have appeared on several blogs and in newspapers, including, MSNBC’s Newsvine, Triple Pundit, Berkeley Daily Planet, and the Dickinson Press.

Our meeting begins at 6:30pm at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, with pre-meeting fellowship from 5:30pm at the 3F Invention Bar.
Guests welcome (meal charge of $20). Hope to see you there!
