In light of our club's $2,000 donation commitment to The Rotary Foundation, it's never too early to start publicizing donation opportunities to help us meet this goal.

In a recent email Cathy Steffen, District Silent Auction Chair, offers a reminder that funds raised from the Paul Harris Foundation Dinner's silent and live auctions will be credited to both the bidder and the item donor. The email offers this helpful example: "[A]n item which sells for $250 will result in $125 being credited towards the Donator Rotarian's Paul Harris Foundation obligation and $125 credited towards the Buyer Rotarian's Paul Harris Foundation obligation."

What to donate to the auction? "Suggestions for types of items are included on the Donation Form, but keep in mind that unusual and hard to get items have the best chance of bringing in the highest bids." Each item donated must be accompanied by a donation form available here.

Don't forget! Pick up a book or two of Foundation Dinner raffle tickets to sell (or buy yourself). 100% of the funds received from these sales will be credited to you and are a fast and easy (and potentially winning!) way to meet your $250 Foundation donation goal. I'll be guilting ... er ... reminding everyone to pick up their raffle tickets at this Thursday's meeting. :-)
