Come join our upcoming meeting on January 19 (Thursday) at the Los Angeles Athletic Club where our speaker will be Denice Gonzalez-Kim, Partnership & Project Leader at School on Wheels (https://schoolonwheels.org), a nonprofit organization who's mission is to enhance educational opportunities for homeless children from kindergarten through twelfth grade. School on Wheels is the only organization in Southern California dedicated exclusively to the educational needs of this fragile population.

Denice joined School on Wheels in 2014 as a Americorps VISTA, later becoming a full-time staff member.  She has over 10 years of experience leading nonprofits in community development and financial literacy, with previous positions at the California Council on Economic Education, After-School All-Stars, and as an English teacher in rural South Korea.

She was a 2014 Fellow of the Riordan MBA Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce. She has been recognized as a Los Angeles Community Leader in 2016 by New York Life, and in 2015 and 2016 by the President Obama Volunteer Service Award.  She received her B.A. from UCLA in Global Studies with a minor in Public Affairs.
