Come join our upcoming meeting on February 16 (Thursday) at the Los Angeles Athletic Club where our speaker will be Helena Jubany, who co-founded Fresco Community Foundation in 2011 with the mission to partner and provide resources for local non-profit organizations and initiatives through the profits of Fresco Community Market, a prototype grocery store that she helped designed, built, and owns.

Her commitment to positively impacting the homeless population resulted in having one of the first partnerships of the foundation to be the LA Mission “Back to Work” program for the homeless. Since the store has opened, Fresco has hired over 20 individuals from this program to work at Fresco Community Market. This has created employment opportunities for a population that is at risk and most vulnerable. The foundation also funds programs for local schools and non-profit organizations with the profits from Fresco Community Market.

Helena is the Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office of NAC Architecture, an architectural firm with over 170 staff focused in education, healthcare, and civic projects. Though a native to Taiwan, Helena was raised in Brazil. There she earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Sao Paulo. Her Master of Architecture degree is from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. Helena speaks fluently English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese (Mandarin).

Join us for pre-meeting happy hour from 5:30pm, followed by our meeting from 6:30pm.
