Come join our upcoming meeting on December 1 (Thursday) at the Los Angeles Athletic Club where our speaker will be Jill Gurr, Founder & Executive Director of Create Now (http://www.createnow.org/), a nonprofit organization that gives youth opportunities to find their voices through arts mentoring and education. Create Now focuses on using arts education as an intervention tool for vulnerable youth through programs that help prevent cycles of abuse, homelessness, and violence.
 
Jill graduated from Boston University with a B.S. degree in Broadcasting and Film and worked for 25 years in the film industry as a script supervisor on international productions. She founded Create Now in 1996 and has been featured on “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” and CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360°.”  Jill currently gives presentations to global diplomats through the U.S. State Department and has published a book entitled “Mentor Youth Now: A Guidebook for Transforming Young Lives.”  She is available as a consultant, trainer, and speaker, and recently gave a TEDx talk in Beverly Hills, soon to be available online.      
 
Join us for pre-meeting happy hour from 5:30pm on the 3rd floor, followed by our meeting from 6:30pm on the 4th floor.
