Oct. 2: P2B Group Homes
Join us for our regular meeting this Thursday, October 2nd, at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
Our speaker will be Ms. Kendra Glass. As the president of Proud 2 Be (P2B) Mentoring/Educational After-School Program for at risk youth since 1999, Kendra has spent over 15 years counseling and mentoring youth and their parents. P2B Home(s) provide a safe, clean and nurturing home environment, for youth between ages 12-17 for short-term, long-term, transitional and emergency shelter. Kendra works with P2B program participants as they deal with personal issues of peer pressure, self-esteem, self-worth, economic hardship and abandonment. The most damaging impact on their lives is the lack of parental guidance, dysfunctional home environments and communication, and Kendra works with the entire family as a mediator and counselor for both youth and parents, building better relationships and implementing the communication technique "learning to listen" motivating change.
Kendra’s professional experience includes conflict resolution, relationship & confidence building, youth counseling and mentoring, Certificate of Training in Crisis Intervention, Certified Group Home Administrator, a Bachelor’s Degree (BS), Business Management, Master’s Degree (MS), Information Technology and currently working on 2nd Master’s, Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT).
