If you want to hear a really inspiring speaker please come to our next Rotary meeting on Thursday, March 15.

Our guest speaker is an amazing young woman called Atiana Duran who will be telling her story of escape from a crack house home at age 12,  in South Central Los Angeles and how Rotary has helped her get to where she is.  She spoke two weeks ago at the PETS (Rotary President Elect Training Seminar).  Of the many speakers there she was the best and received a well deserved standing ovation. There wasn't a single person in the audience of 700 who wasn't deeply moved.

We will be presenting her with a check on behalf of the incoming Presidents Elect from District 5280.  The hat was passed at PETS, and they kicked in a bunch to help her out.

Our District Governor elect, Lew Bertrand will be attending the meeting as will Past District Governor Vicki Radel.

This would be a great meeting for prospective members to get some idea of what Rotary is about. So please invite a prospective member.

The meeting is at the Los Angeles Athletic Club at 7th and Olive in downtown LA.  Parking is off Olive immediately north of 7th.

The meeting starts at 6:30 but we will be have a social hour in the bar on the 3rd floor starting at 5:15 or 5:30.  Any questions, please contact Peter Lattey (lattey@sbcglobal.net or 310-968-3252).
