Regular Meeting: Child Abuse Prevention

 

Come join our upcoming meeting on April 6 (Thursday) at the Los Angeles Athletic Club where our speaker will be Anne Calvo, Senior Director of Child Abuse Prevention for the YMCA of the USA. Anne provides critical leadership to advance the YMCA’s strategic priority of abuse-prevention.

 

A native of London, England, Anne is trained as a Registered Nurse. She gained additional training and experience as an officer in the British Royal Air Force, a director of nursing in a private hospital, and by serving as a head nurse on a medical ship serving children in third world countries. Licensed as an RN in the U.S., Anne immigrated to Los Angeles to help set up a company bringing British nurses to work in America. 

 

For 19 years previous to her current position, Anne worked for The Salvation Army and has been recognized for her work by the Salvation Army, the City of Los Angeles, and was awarded the Mary Fisher Award for her AIDS work.
