April 5, 2012 - Los Angeles Conservancy

Marcello Vavala, Preservation Associate at the Los Angeles Conservancy, will discuss the organization’s wide-ranging efforts in downtown Los Angeles.  You’ll learn about the Conservancy’s mission and outreach to thousands of downtown residents and visitors alike through popular programs such as the Last Remaining Seats film series and walking tours exploring downtown’s historic buildings and revitalization through adaptive reuse. Some of the latest projects taking place on Broadway will be discussed, as well as a fresh look at one of downtown’s most iconic civic structures—the Department of Water and Power Building—which the Conservancy has nominated for local landmark designation.
