2007-2008 GSE Team to speak at next club meeting

&pidWilson Benitez was born in Ecuador and immigrated to the United States in 1974, settling in the Los Angeles area. A jeweler, jewelry designer, and a gemologist who worked in downtown Los Angeles for many years, Wilson currently has his store in Torrance. Wilson is married to his wife of almost thirty years, Amada. They have two children. Wilson joined the Rotary Club of Del Amo-Torrance in June of 1995 having served his club as international director for two years, as youth director for another two, and as president during the 2002-2003 Rotary year. Wilson liked the idea of being a team leader for the GSE program ever since he learned about it. His opportunity came this year when he applied to go to Central America on this exciting trip.

Aretha Scruggs is a professional singer who traveled with Natalie Cole on her world tour a few years back. At the time of travel to Central America she was working for the the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. She is a graduate of UCLA with a BS in Anthropology and African American Studies. Aretha also attended the University of West Indies in Barbados on a study abroad program. Aretha is currently attending school and is a Certified Vocal Coach.
