September 29, 2026 Rotary Meeting Recap – Marion High School
Marion Rotary held its September 29 meeting at Marion High School, hosted by Dr. Janelle Brouwer, Superintendent of the Marion Independent School District.
Dr. Brouwer has served as superintendent since the 2019-2020 school year and brought a wealth of educational leadership experience to her presentation. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles including AEA administrator, principal, teacher, and district leader. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Iowa.
Members learned about the Marion Independent School District, its educational programs, and ongoing efforts to support student success. The discussion highlighted the district's commitment to providing high-quality learning environments and investing in facilities that serve students and the community. Recent improvements throughout the district, including upgrades to athletic and educational facilities, reflect that commitment.
The off-site meeting also provided Rotarians with an opportunity to visit Marion High School and gain a better understanding of the important role public education plays in preparing future generations and strengthening our community.
Thank you to Dr. Brouwer and the Marion Independent School District for welcoming our club to Marion High School. We appreciate the opportunity to learn more about the district and the many ways it continues to serve Marion students, families, and the broader community.
