Program Highlights
Our club enjoyed an inspiring presentation from Derek Meier, the new owner of Northtowne Cycling + Fitness, Cedar Rapids’ century-old bike shop. Derek officially acquired the business in October 2025, continuing its proud tradition of promoting fitness, cycling, and community engagement.

Originally from Bellevue, Derek graduated from Coe College and previously worked for Great America before transitioning into entrepreneurship. He shared a personal story of resilience, including overcoming brain cancer, which shaped his outlook on health and community. Derek also noted that Ohnward Bank provided the financing for his purchase—a great example of local businesses supporting each other.
