On May 3, 2017, the Rotary Club of Marion-East Cedar Rapids was awarded $20,200 from the 100+ Who Care Cedar Rapids Metro organization for the "Shoes for Kids" program.  This amazing award will help the Rotary club provide new shoes to area school children.  Since 2003, the club has provided over 5,500 pairs of shoes.  100+ Who Care is an organization that supports the growth of our local community by pooling resources to make focused, effective contributions to local charities.  Each quarter a different organization is selected to receive this generous gift.  This amount will help the Rotary club give over 1,000 pairs of shoes to kids in need.  The club also promotes several events throughout the year to raise funds and awareness of Rotary’s local service projects.
