All members of the Marion-East Cedar Rapids Rotary take part in events and projects of the Club.
Committee Responsibilities
Service Committee
Service Committee provides centrally coordinated effort to oversee multiple club projects with goal to identify a funding strategy for each project and coordinates the many service projects that the club chooses to undertake. Participation by club members make these projects successful. Projects include local and international.
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee works to develop special events that promote a positive image of Rotary and the club while raising funds to sustain important projects of the club, both locally and internationally. By leading all of club members, this committee will work to produce the annual waffle breakfast and other special events.
Club Administration Committee
Manages the operations and membership aspects of the club. This includes member meeting logistics though selection of the weekly meeting site and optimizing the members dining and meeting experience. The committee also ensures Club records and finances are faithfully administered and memorialized for the sustainability of Club activities, procedures and processes.
Rotary Foundation Committee
The Rotary Foundation supports the good works of Rotary clubs locally, District-wide and internationally. It relies on the support of Rotary members and friends of Rotary. The Rotary Foundation Committee ensures the Marion - East Cedar Rapids Rotary Club is an active participant and supporter of the foundation. Additionally, this committee manages our youth programs such as Interact and RYLA.
Membership
New Member Growth, bringing the opportunities of Rotary membership to vital members of our community and making new members feel welcome at club meetings, including developing new-member packets. Member recruiting is done in close cooperation with the Public Relations Committee.
Existing Member Retention, developing programs that encouraging members to stay active and involved in the club, including seeking out informative and entertaining guest speakers, hosting Member Minutes that highlight club members’ personal and professional history, hosting quarterly club assemblies, offering Rotary polo shirts for sale and submitting information for the “Wheel” to the Clubrunner website. Existing Member Retention is done in close cooperation with the Public Relations Committee.
