Rotary Club of Ventura-East
Elevator Speech
 
We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian social organization comprising local business, civic and professional leaders. We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to solve community and global problems with service projects. Like:
  • Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
  • Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
  • Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
  • Promote literacy and career guidance in schools
  • Internationally we support a medical project in Ethiopia and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.
The Rotary Club of  Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community. Use your professional skills and talents to make a difference.

Hello Rotarians and friends of The Rotary Club of Ventura East. I hope you had a great Holiday, visiting with friends and family. It is always a great time, but for most of us, we need a vacation afterwards to regain our energy.
 
This month is just one half over, but we still have a lot on the agenda. Thursday, the 21st is our monthly social at Limon Y Sal, 598 E. Main St. 3rd floor. We have reservations from 5:30-7:30 and are promised a great assortment of menu items. On Sunday, the 24th both the Aut2Run and The Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids.

and the Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids. These are very special programs for our club and they need all of the support that we can give.
 
On our next meeting April 28, Tim will have the Scholarship recipients and awards. Let’s have a great attendance for this one.

Meeting April 14, 2022
Todd Juvonen led us in the Flag Salute today.
 
President Cal led us in reciting the 4-Way test.
 
Joe Strohman introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.
Guest of Joe Strohman was Hannah Strohman guest of Sharon Daly Teresta Campbell.
 
President Cal passed around a clip board for upcoming club duties.

Bruce McGee passed around the sign up sheet for the Walk for Kids and spoke about the drive to raise money to go to Rotary Clubs in Romania to help with the Ukrainian refugee crisis.
