Hello fellow Rotarians. Even though some clubs are having problems getting guest speakers, we had another great meeting last week with two programs. The meeting started off about 10 minutes late with Dick Gallagher leading us in the pledge to the flag. We broke for lunch but the business part of the meeting started a bit early.
Bruce spoke of membership spotlight that will take place monthly. Oscar will interview members and it will be posted on social media. Rich then passed a sign-up sheet for those members that wanted to help The Rubicon by ushering their rendition of Les Misérables. Tim passed around 2 letters of thanks from two of our scholarship winners and guest Kevin Daily thanked our members for helping his mom Sharon and get-well cards. He also reported on The Mossy foot Project.
We had our first program from Dana Bates, a Rotarian from Romania and friend or Tom and Cynthia
Harshbarger. His project, from an idea to reality of helping local economy and youth by developing
mountain biking trails, bike clubs, and so on.
Our next program was from Jim Duran from City Center. What a remarkable organization that can provide a transitional living center for homeless families with children in Ventura County, equipping them to rebuild their lives for self-sufficiency. This looks like a
great opportunity for Community outreach.
