Hello Rotarians and friends of The Rotary Club of Ventura East. As Sharon Daly continues to work on the Mossy Foot Project, she is in dire need of Sports Socks. For those of you who forgot their socks last week, we will continue to collect them for Sharon as she will be going back to Africa in May and will be happy to bring a large donation with her. Ashley Pope has some great programs scheduled for the next few months, so this would be a great time to ask people that you know to visit our club with the hope of gaining new members. I have promised to add $5.00 to the Happy Doller Pot for every new perspective member brought to the club meetings from now thru June 30th. Furthermore, any member that actually gets a new member enrolled by June 30th, will get their meals paid for one month. On Wednesday, April 6, our club will have our service project at Foodshare in Oxnard. Registration begins at 1:30pm.
I will be out of town for this week’s meeting. Tim Hughes has graciously volunteered to run our meeting. Looks like he is warming up for next year. Thank you Tim.
As the war in the Ukraine is continuing to intensify, the need for basic necessities grows even stronger.  The Ukraine is in a fight for its life. So many of its citizens have been displaced, and fighting for their lives as they want to remain a free country. I can’t imagine what it would be like if another country tried to take away our freedom. With limited food weapons, and supplies, many Americans are asking how they can help. As Rotarians, we know that Rotary is always going to lend a hand. Anyone interested in making a contribution may send a check to International and on the “subject”’ line, write UKRAINE. If you would prefer to   have our club forward the check for you, we will be happy to.
Please don’t forget to register for the Aut2Run and the Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids. These are very special programs for our club and they need all of the support that we can give.
Thank you,
