New Club Fundraising Activity!!

Last Thursday the juices were flowing as we discussed what our club’s new fundraising activity should be, and we came up with many wonderful ideas.  But don’t worry if you missed last week’s meeting, you still have an opportunity to provide me with your ideas on what fundraising activity our Club should pursue.  The bigger the activity, all the better!!  If we’re going to make an impact in our community and world, fundraising will play a central role in helping to achieve our goal. So, send me your ideas!!

Based upon those ideas received, I’ve segregated them into three categories:
Tournament – Soccer, Golf, Poker, Other Game
Event – Country Music Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree Decorating & Auction, Art Show & Auction, St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Location – Botanical Gardens, Harbor, Lake Casitas, Arroyo Verde Park, Poinsettia Pavilion, Limoneira, Fair

This is a great start, but we’ve only just begun!!
Over the next few weeks I plan to take a couple of minutes out of each meeting to explore in greater detail each idea, with the goal of drilling down our focus to just a few ideas.  Once we’ve focused our ideas, we can begin to explore the pros/cons of each and finally arrive at a decision on an event that we can call our own.  No problem!  So, stay tuned!!

On to other business:
  • August 10th Backpack Project
    • 9am-12pm VUSD Headquarters (off Stanley Ave)

  • RYLA is Coming!!  We have until late September to reserve our spaces for RYLA (we have 5 spaces available).  If you have someone in mind (High School aged boy or girl – preferable not a senior), please let Bill or me know asap. The sooner the better!
  • District Assembly is October 12th (Saturday) in Santa Ynez
  • District Governor’s visit is scheduled for January 23, 2020.
