Rotary Club of Ventura-East
Elevator Speech
 
We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.
 
We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.
 
We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:
  • Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
  • Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
  • Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
  • Promote literacy and career guidance in schools
 
Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.
 
The Rotary Club of  Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community.

What a wonderful presentation from Banks Pecht this past week. It was wonderful to hear about her company Executive Coaching as well as Multiple Sclerosis facts and her passion to help others. Our members gratitude was amazing, we were able to donate $1,000 to Banks’s MS Bike ride team. I am so proud of our Rotary Club members.     
 
Thank you to Bruce, Cal, Harriet, and Rich for volunteering this past Saturday for the Kids and Families together Spring Basket giveaway drive through. Many happy kids and families.
 
A great big thank you to Cal for volunteering every Thursday to be the runner at the drive through Poinsettia Pavilion take away dinners.
 
This week we will have Amy Towner from the VC Foundation talk to us about the Walk for Kids and the Ronald McDonald Family room at VC Medical Center.

  • April 17th – Rotary District 5240 Training. Virtual event where you may choose the training you would like to attend free of charge.
  • April 19th – Board meeting at Topa Brewery on 4880 Colt St. in Ventura
  • April 22nd – Angie Brinkhoff – VC Autism Society – Aut2Run
  • April 24th and 25th - Will be the virtual Aut2Run fundraiser for the Autism Society of Ventura County make sure you sign on to team Gavin

Rotary and the U.S. Government support Italy’s fight against COVID-19 US$5

 

The Otto and Fran Walter Foundation has pledged $15.5 million to The Rotary Foundation to start a Rotary Peace Center in the Middle East or North Africa.

 

Rotary gets the job done where others failed.

 

Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors worked together in a nationwide project that promoted behavior change and initiated safety standards for businesses.

 

Facing the challenges of COVID-19, Rotary clubs and partner organizations are finding new ways to support access to education.
