Hello Rotarians and friends of The Rotary Club of Ventura East. Last week we had our club’s charitable project with Foodshare in Oxnard. For those of you that missed it, it is obvious that the need is still out there, as we continue to see supermarket prices rise to unprecedented rates.

Just a reminder that as we prepare for the Easter holiday, this is both a joyful, and a stressful time for most of us. This is the perfect tome to tell our loved ones how much we care for them, and also to show a little more patience for those around us that might be having a difficult time.

Margarida Eidson passed out information cards as to how to help with donations for the Ukraine. Please send checks to:
ROTARY INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 5240

5662 Calle Real  #425
Goleta, Ca. 93117
Please include the word UKRAINE in the memo section of the check. Also, please keep the citizens of the Ukraine in your thoughts and prayers.

Please don’t forget to register for the Aut2Run
April 24 – Aut2Run   Join Gavin’s team..(Ashley’s Team)  Learn more @ Aut2Run.org and the Ronald McDonald Walk for Kids. These are very special programs for our club and they need all of the support that we can give.

This months Board meeting location will be changed to The Poinsettia Pavilion, at the usual 5:30pm.  Although most missing members usually notify me if they were unable to attend, I would like to remind all board members how important notification is. Thank you

Ashley Pope gave inspiration and brought some old memorabilia from the chamber office move relating to our club.

Debbie Martin talked to us about the need for walkers and volunteers for Walk for Kids.

Margarida Eidson talked about Romania and sending the team funds through the chamber in Romania.

NK and Dante talked about a program for $50,000 grant that will impact over 300 kids. They need $18,000 – they would like $3,000 for the Autism Project. The program is to help bring teachers and people to help identify autism in children. The region would be in Camaroon. The hope is that the project would become a template.

Sam Marsh gave us a short craft talk about Drivers Education and how/why it’s not free, and that it should be. He would like VCRE to help make Drivers Training free as a rotary project, because it should be funded through the general fund as it is collected from tickets.
