Hello fellow Rotarians and friends of Ventura East. What a week we have had. It started last Thursday
with our meeting having the largest attendance that we have had in a very long time. Every seat at every
table was filled. It was so wonderful to see everyone in attendance. Our speaker was Kevin Clerici with
The Downtown Ventura Partners Association. He had a very informative presentation on the downtown
business plan.
Sunday, of course, was Super Bowl Sunday. What an exciting game it was no matter which team you
were rooting for. Monday was the most important day of celebration, as it was Valentine’s Day. I’m sure
all of you fellows bought your special someone some nice flowers, and a nice trip to a fine restaurant.
In last weeks Breeze, I announced a service project at Food Share on Wed. March 3 rd . The date should
have read Wed. March 2 nd . All of those interested in joining us, please let me know so that I can give
them a head count. College Park, Oxnard. Registration starts at 12:30. Distribution from 1:30-4:30.
This week our meeting will be Dark, as it is the 3 rd Thursday and we will be meeting at The Garage at
1091 Scandia Ave. in Ventura from 6:00 – 8:00pm. The food will come from Katrina’s Mexican Kitchen
which is right next door. You will go to Katrina’s and place your order, and then come next door to The
Garage. Katrina’s will deliver your food to you. There are tables outside for your convenience, weather
permitting.
Just a reminder that Sunday February 27, the Ventura South club will be hosting their 6th Mardi Gras at
the Tower Club. Anyone interested, please let me or a Board member know so that we can get you the
tickets. On March 3 rd , we will have an off-site meeting at Pacific High School. We will start a little earlier
than usual. 11:30 – 12:00 we will tour the campus. Boxed lunch from Stacy will be provided from 12:00-
12:30, and then we will have a tour of the garden www.saaliyasranch.com
https://venturausd.org/pacific/Home.aspx . Because we will be providing boxed lunches, we will need to
know how many are attending, so we will have a sine-up sheet. This should be a great outing. Looks like
we have 15 so far.

Thank you,
