My, the year has flown by. This Thursday is my Step down, June 20th at Bright Spark Brewing located at 4561 Market St, between Goodyear and Eastman Aves in Ventura. Festivities begin at 5:30. Since this falls on our Third Thursday, each member may bring one guest for free. Sign up with Margarida at

We have had a year of varied and excellent program speakers. Thank you to Dawn for coordinating a stellar slate, culminating last week with the City Manager, Bill Ayub. We learned about the odyssey of the pier repair, that there is a street repaving schedule, and that he is actively trying to make things better in many areas as quickly as he can prod the wheels of government.
Next week we will finish the year with the Four Way Test Essay Contest Awards! What a great last meeting for me to preside over.

Notes about our summer schedule of activities:
July 4th : Join the fun for the Push em Pull em parade that starts at 10 a.m on Main Street in front of Cemetery Park. Show up around 8:30 or 9 to kick off the celebration.
We will not be participating in the August school backpack project of recent years. We are looking to step up support for Buena Interact supply closet and explore other ways to support teachers and reach those students most in need.
Suggestions for program speakers for August and group activities like theater are welcome. Also, planning to set up a visit to or social at Ventura Spirits.
