Seasons Greetings Friends and fellow Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Ventura East. By now we are fully into the spirit of the season. Audibly or mentally singing our favorite Christmas songs, or maybe even Adam Sandler’s version of The Hanukkah song. Getting together with friends and family, reminiscing old stories. This is always my favorite time of year. This is the time of year when we all become a little nicer, and a bit more sentimental. The kind of person that I wish I could be all year long.
Last week was our holiday party with dinner, a boat ride, and gift exchange. 32 members and guests joined us for dinner and conversation, and 28 brave souls, challenged the elements to board the ship that carried us to Christmas Wonderland. The weather became less challenging ounce we boarded so many of the group were able to go on deck to enjoy the lights. We had a cookie contest that 3 winners were chosen. We also had a gift exchange that left us all laughing and just having a great time. Thank you to all of you who could attend, and Ashley Pope for putting this event on. For those of you that couldn’t attend, please know that you were missed.
Just a reminder that the holiday party for the club isn’t over yet. December 30, will be a joint meeting with the Ventura Downtown and the Ventura South clubs. Spreading good will, the Lions Club of Ventura Downtown is also invited. Hopefully, going forward, we can have a joint fundraiser or two and have enough help to make them a bit easier.
Thank you, And Merry Christmas
