Elevator Speech

We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.

We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.

We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:

Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
Promote literacy and career guidance in schools

Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.

The Rotary Club of Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community.

As I sit on my front porch early Saturday morning writing our newsletter, I reflect on tomorrow’s Celebration of Life for Pete Gallagher. What an example of a fine Rotarian we found in Pete. Always willing to help others, to give of his time, talent, and treasures. A founding and lasting member of our Club, giving over 54 years to Rotary, more than half his life.

Tomorrow we will come together to remember our friend Pete. He may be gone from our lives, but he will not soon be forgotten. I plan to honor Pete by rededicating myself to Rotary. To live up to Pete’s example in all my actions.

Pete, give Tootie a big hug from us.

This Month

“Rise Against Hunger” Event

February 22^nd 10am – 12noon

Poinsettia Pavilion

We’ll be assembling 1000 food packets that will be deployed to emergency situations around the world. Each packet will feed 10 people.

Great fun way to get some hands on experience!!
