Last week’s program was on lifelong learning and the OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) through CSUCI.  I hope you all have been able to check out the offerings for the new term starting January 22: go.csuci.edu/olli.  Registration is now open.  A good way to  explore a new or existing area of interest, and have another group of friends to invite to Rotary events. I love that the lectures are recorded so you can watch when most convenient for you.  The courses offered in person  and on Zoom at the College of Law in Ventura this term are:  Rebels and Innovators of the 1950s, and The Automobile in American History. 

 

            This week we will hear from the County Tax Assessor on pertinent topics like transferring your tax basis.  Sure to be informative, so invite a friend and let’s fill the room!

 

            Next week will be our first Social of the year: at Orozco’s on Front Street.  If you get to the area early, you can go to Transmission Brewing’s Crow’s nest and enjoy a beer while watching the sunset, or have a walk on the promenade. 

 

In case you missed my message last week, I will repeat: I recognize that this is an election year and that there is divisiveness in our country and the world.  I remind you that Rotary is a neutral zone.  Thank you for respecting and enjoying the a-political aspect of our organization.
