This Thursday we celebrate and congratulate this year’s recipients of the Bob Pazen Nursing Scholarship awards. This year 13 awards of $1,000 each are being given out to nursing students. Be there to hear the amazing stories of these dedicated individuals, and encourage their dedication and achievements. Derek Eidson will present the nursing awards. Joe Strohman is in charge of the club meeting in my absence this week.
Last week we enjoyed learning more about our recipient of the Business Ethics Award for my President year: Ventura Spirits. Thank you to founder Andrew Caspari for an informative program and incentive to plan a group tour and tasting. They are good friends to Rotary, donating to our fundraisers including offering tastings at the Food, Wine and Beer Festival coming up on Saturday!
Speaking of the Saturday Event, please sign up to help for a couple or three hours and then enjoy tasting and socializing. As a last push for ticket sales, you may offer the group rate of $50 with a coupon code (online) or note on the ticket stub ‘Group10’. Checks should be made out to Girl Scouts CCC. Tickets will be available at the event for $60. Sure to be a festive afternoon of sampling some of the best Ventura County has to offer. Maximum is 300 attendees; let’s help it sell out!
