We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.
We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.
We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:
Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
Promote literacy and career guidance in schools
Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.
The Rotary Club of Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the social at the Ultimate Escape Rooms! We had one group manage to escape with 8 minutes to spare, but unfortunately we lost our other group. Fortunately we found them and had a great time hanging out at Margarita Villa after. It was the first time I've experienced the escape room and I found it to be pretty fun. One things for sure, I was using parts of my brain that I haven't used in a while so, I'm not sure how much of a help or hindrance I was to my team, but it was a lot of fun!
We have the District Social coming up on June 20th at Dodger Stadium, Dodgers vs Giants! And on June 29th we have our District Step Down for District Governor Sandi Schwartz.
Our Step Down dinner will be on June 21st at Strey Cellars in Oxnard. For you beer drinkers, we will also have beer available from one of my favorite brewery's Poseidon Brewery! I look forward to seeing you at the Step Down and celebrating our year and our successes!

The "Not" So Silent Corner
Nearing the end…
Just like that June is at our doorstep. This mean that we have officially begun the last month of Jeff’s Rotary year. I know many people have asked if I am happy the year is coming to an end and I find myself saying no. Why am I not looking forward to handing over the reigns to a new first lady? What will I miss so much that I am now becoming a bit melancholy? Maybe it is because I am not ready to go back to being a voiceless spouse or not being able to plan fun events for Jeff’s club. I am so proud of all the new things we have tried and the new ideas we gave a chance to become a reality. Jeff was supposed to be the bridge between the new and traditional in the club while being the inspiration. It has not been easy but it has been fun. Do I regret anything? I have only one regret – I wish more people could have experienced all the new ways they had to be involved. Who knew painting rocks would see Ventura-East venture into Instagram or Sip N See send Valentines to non-profits (still my favorite activity this year!)
No time to dwell on all that we could have accomplished. We still have one more Sip N See to launch and Jeff’s Step down to plan. What do we have planned? Well, if you have attended any of our events this year, you know we will have a good time. Remember, we honor those who have passed by embracing change. Next year is around the corner but for now, let’s embrace today and make a difference together.
