We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.

We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.

We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:

  • Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
  • Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
  • Promote literacy and career guidance in schools

Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.

President's Message
Jeff Burgh

I’d like to begin by thanking Jeff Hata for taking charge of the meeting last week, as I had work duties to attend too.  I understand I missed a very good meeting – Thanks Jeff

This week we have another great opportunity to hear from someone making an impact on our community.  Emily Barany of 805Help will be here to speak to us about the services her non-profit provides to those effected by disasters, both natural and manmade.  805Help helps communities respond to and heal from disasters.  805Help revolutionizes the way communities respond to disasters by focusing its efforts on capturing and channeling the incredible swell of community support following the disaster.  You don’t want to miss Emily explain 805Help’s current efforts and her goals for the future.

Mark your calendars for our District Governors visit/social on January 23rd.  We’re planning a combined “evening” event with Ventura’s two other Rotary Clubs, South and Downtown.  The event will be held at the Poinsettia Pavilion (5:30pm-7:30pm), with dinner to be followed by Jazz music performed by the Cabrillo Middle School Jazz Band.  If you miss the opportunity to sign up at this week’s meeting, please be sure to send me an e-mail if you plan to attend, as we’re trying to get an accurate headcount.  Will be a most enjoyable evening – Hope to see you there.
