Greetings Rotarians and friends of Ventura East. The weather is changing, the chill is in the air, and the holidays are just around the corner. This is always a hectic time of year, trying to get the house decorated and ready for entertaining. Checking the holiday gift list, making sure that you have everyone’s wish list. Checking your recipe box and pantry to make sure that you have all of the ingredients for your favorite goodies……Mmmm. I’m getting hungry already.
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you all on a very successful fundraiser. It looks like we sold 360 cases of flowers, and could have sold more if we had the inventory. Who knows, maybe since some of the customers weren’t able to get them, the demand might even be higher next year. Thank you all for participating with sales and deliveries. A special “Thank You” to Margarida Eidson, Bruce McGee, and Carin Kally for delivering 3 and 4 days. At the cost of gas today, that was a donation by itself. I’m not sure how Margarida found the time to run this fundraiser and run her business at the same time, but somehow, she managed to succeed at both.
This Thursday should be insightful as Joe Strohman will be interviewing one of our members. There are always hidden secrets that seem to come out whenever Joe is executing a deposition. I guess that is why he is such a brilliant attorney. If you murder someone, Joe will find out where the body is buried. Be sure not to miss this meeting.
Please check your schedules for this weekend. The Salvation Army has asked us to help collect for them on Saturday Dec.11, and Sunday, Dec.12. We will be at the Ralph’s on Victoria. After your shift, you can get your groceries. Very convenient.
