I hope everyone had a fantastic 4^th of July. While a record number of us were traveling by car and air to our favorite locations, the sane people stayed at home to avoid the hassles Whatever your choice, it was a great feeling to be with family and friends..

 

Well, we got past the first meeting and we all survived. No, we more that survived. We hit a Home Run. Our first meeting of the year, and we already have a membership application. Tom Crozier, a former member of this club, turned in his application to become a hard-working member once again. What a great way to get started. The meeting started about 5 minutes late, with Vance leading us in the pledge to the flag. After a great lunch and the breakout session for the Zoomers, Harriet gave a heartfelt inspirational talk. Thank you Harriet. Caren Kelly sold the winning raffle ticket to our guest Tom.  Adonis gave a Happy Dollar for the announcement of Roy Valdez’s new baby. Husam added $ 51.00 to the pot. Thank you Husam. All of the members in attendance were given a 4 Way Test coin and given a brief reminder of the importance of the meaning behind it. Any members that were not in attendance has a coin waiting for them.

 

President Cal gave a brief outline of future ideas for the year and upcoming dates to keep in mind. Bill Spellman will be directing a play in Ojai and Margarida suggested an outing for our club to go there on Sunday July 11, and watch the play and have dinner afterwards. She also asked for volunteers for a meal train to help deliver meals to Sharon Daily, who had fallen and broke her foot.
