Greetings Rotarians and Friends of Rotarians
Thank you to those that attended my first meeting as Club President. The RI theme for the year is “Create Hope in the World”, which as Rotarians, I think we do in small and large ways through our projects in the community, the scholarships we award, the support for Interact, the promotion of Rotaract, and the fellowship we have with one another, to name a few. My themes are to embrace opportunity, to be engaged in the club and community, expand our influence, collaboration, membership, and enjoy our Rotary family.
The flag salute was led by the Rotarians who volunteered at the July 4th Parade. ( We had 15 members plus family members help out. It was a huge success!!.)
Margarida Eidson was Greeter and Jacquelyn Gargano took attendance. Bruce McGee inspired us. Jeff Hata supplied two lovely bottles of wine for the Opportunity Drawing which Husam Hishmeh won. Margarida Eidson presented Stacey Tipton, our caterer, with a beautiful plaque designed and made by our woodworking artist Jim Word, naming her an honorary Club member.
Our program was a club assembly. Thank you to Jacquelyn Gargano for outlining our social media accounts and aspirations. And to Jeff Hata for giving us some tips and information that will help the Club and RI by keeping your profile data in Club Runner current. I look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the member directory, which is easy to access from the ClubRunner app on your phone. If you have questions, they have invited you to contact them directly.
The District theme is “Let’s Have Fun” I certainly enjoyed learning more about what you do for fun and appreciate your input through the surveys you completed. Margarida Eidson will be filling in for me this week as I take my last vacation for the summer.
