We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian social organization comprising local business, civic and professional leaders. We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to solve community and global problems with service projects. Like:
Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
Promote literacy and career guidance in schools
Internationally we support a medical project in Ethiopia and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.
The Rotary Club of Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community. Use your professional skills and talents to make a difference.
Rotary Club of Ventura-East 2022 Scholarship Application
Multiple Scholarships of up to $7,500.00 will be awarded.
Approximately $125,000.00 will be awarded.
Available to graduating VUSD seniors who are attending two or four year colleges or vocational & technical schools. Prior scholarship recipients may re-apply.
Hello fellow Rotarians and friends of the Rotary Club of Ventura East. I’m sure by now your home is decorated for the Holidays. The tree is up and lights and ornaments are hung. Special holiday memory pieces are on display. Greeting cards are being written. Maybe even the beginning of some baking of holiday treats. Everyone is rushing around, busy getting things done and coming home exhausted, but feeling really good about it. What a wonderful time of the year.
I want to thank Todd Juvonen, Carin Kally, Steve Harbison, Rich Stewart, Joe Bova, Margarida Eidson, and Ken Kagan for volunteering to help the Salvation Army Bell Ringing on Saturday, but especially a HUGE Thank You to Bill Spellman for driving in from Ojai and working an unscheduled double shift. I think he was trying to look like FROSTY the snowman. It was definitely cold in the late afternoon. I was amazed at the amount of people that actually thanked us for being there to collect. I know that I have said this before, but I think it is worth repeating. Not all people are “Club” people, but most people do want to help their community. Many just don’t know how, or need a small opportunity. When you see the smile on their face and hear the cheerful “Thank you” when they put their money in the kettle, they feel good about themselves for helping. It’s the same feeling the we get when we see a scholarship recipient come to the club to receive their award. We know that we have done just a little to help someone. That, in my opinion, is probably the best feeling that we can have. So, next year, when we have a fundraiser of any kind, don’t feel awkward, or uncomfortable about asking someone to support it. It might just be that they are looking for a way to help.

Our opportunity drawing was $50 cash.
Margarida Eidson let us know how we did on Poinsettia Sales. The club sold 360 cases this year and could have sold more except we didn't have the inventory!
Bruce McGee sold the most cases this year!
Runner up in sales was Carin Kally.
Margarida Eidson passed around the sign up sheet for Families.
Margarida Eidson had two tickets to Immersive Van Gough if you can go tomorrow.
