We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.

We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.

We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:
  • Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
  • Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
  • Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
  • Promote literacy and career guidance in schools

Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.

The Rotary Club of  Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community.

Wow!! The first meeting of the new year is in the books - and I survived!  We’re officially off and running for 2019-2020, and ready to make an impact on our community.  Together a “Big Impact”.

Following in RI President Mark Maloney’s footsteps, our Club’s Action Plan will help connect us to our community in a big way, and in the process build our Club membership, all while having fun!!  Our plan for the year follows along these four action items:
1 – Increase our Impact –
  • Become more involved with issues which are important to our community.
  • Grow our Participation.
  • Be a Presence!
2 – Expand our Reach –
  • Include Rotaract in our activities and become more involved in theirs.
  • Step up our involvement with Interact, build on our past.
  • Partner with our sister clubs
  • Work with Mossy Foot to build it a force in Africa – Let’s Go To Africa!
3 – Enhance Participation and Engagement –
  • Suggest programs relevant to you, something you’d like to hear about and then bring a friend to the meeting.
  • We’re starting something new - “Third Thursday of the Month” begins in September.  No Lunch meeting, a dinner meeting at a local establishment.  Bring the family.
4 – Adapt to Changing Times –
  • Identify an exciting and new Club fundraiser - Something impactful for our community.
  • Be respectful of our members who are building their careers or businesses.
  • Ending our meetings at 1:15pm this year.
And have FUN!!

I believe having FUN while doing something impactful for our community, can and will grow Rotary and Our Club.

What’s next:
This week we have the Rubicon Kids Theater as our program, followed the 25th by a visit from our City’s Mayor Matt LaVere – Bring a friend, both programs will be very interesting and enjoyable.

We’re going to start August off with a bang, to celebrate Harriet’s birthday on August 1st, by holding a Club “All Hands Meeting”.  The meeting will be designed to gather your input on our Avenues of Service, come ready to present your ideas on…..fundraising/programs/projects/etc.  I am looking forward to your ideas for our Club.

Oh, and lets not forget the Backpack Project, with our sister Clubs on Saturday, August 10th !!

See you Thursday!
