We are a leadership organization comprising of local business, civic and professional leaders.

We are a nonpolitical, nonsectarian service club.

We meet regularly to get to know each other, form friendships and through that we are able to get things done in this community. Like:

Scholarships at 5 local high schools,
Interact Clubs at 3 local schools.
Support the YMCA, City Center, Ventura Botanical Gardens
Promote literacy and career guidance in schools

Internationally we support a huge project our club started called GoCare in Nicaragua and contribute to eliminating Polio worldwide.

The Rotary Club of Ventura-East meets Thursday noon to 1:30 at the Poinsettia Pavilion in Ventura. Come and learn more about Rotary's humanitarian service, high ethical standards in all vocations and help build good will in this community.

As we look into the future, the only way to make it there we must grow, and to grow we must keep our members happy and involved, while inviting new members to join. Most of us are here because a friend or acquaintance has invited us, and we stayed for the friendships and projects that may improve our lives and our world. For me, beside all the great friends I made, it was the college scholarships that we gave and the Nicaragua projects that kept me in Rotary. I visited Nicaragua twice with Rotary, both times I felt a life changing experience and I highly recommend to everyone. Rotary is a humanitarian organization that you will receive a lot more than you can ever give. Most people will spend most of their life searching for themselves, and I found it right here, serving others is the way to finding yourself.

This week at Rotary we have Godfrey Harris talking to us about how American government really works, I'm sure it will be great program to share with friends.

President Husam thanked Michelle Cekov for greeting today.

Tobias Hildebrand gave our Inspirational Message.

President Husam reminded us about the Community Service Social on February 1st at Spice Topia and said that the board meeting would be rescheduled.

Sharon Daly told us that Mossy Foot was doing a "Shoe Donation Drive" and if we had any gently used or new shoes that we would like to donate, please bring them to the club meeting in the next few weeks.

Bob Pazen gave our joke of the day.

Bill Spellman told us that the Mock Interviews at Buena concluded today.

Midge Stork announced that the raffle prize was a gift card to Macroni Grill donated by Jeff Burgh.

We already have a fun group of 12 couples signed up for our first ever Ventura Rotary Cruise March 9th. Best news? There are plenty of reserved staterooms for more! This 4 day "Bash and Splash" party will kick off from SAN PEDRO on Thursday, March 9th with stops in CATALINA and ENSENADA.
