Hello friends and fellow Rotarians of Ventura East. Can you believe it? This month is almost gone, and it seems that just last week we were getting ready for the Christmas holidays. Before you know it, we will be waxing down our surfboards to hit the big waves. Well…Maybe not.

 

There is no question that January has been met with many challenges, and I would be silly to think that it will smooth sailing from now on. The most important thing now is to keep things in the proper perspective. We are not in lockdown, most business are open, and travel is not as restrictive as it once was. While we still need to be cautious, we are able to get out of the house more and start meeting with friends and family in a responsible way. We just completed our first service project of the year, and all want well. Hopefully, we can plan another project or two by the end of this June. Foodshare and Habitat for Humanity are in constant need of volunteers so if the club is interested, we can set a date for a group effort. The sooner we can start working on these projects, the sooner we can feel a bit closer to normal.

If anyone has a service project that they would like to see us involved in, please let a Board Member know so we can try to make it happen.
