Shopping has begun for Furnishing Hope welcome baskets.
The Community Service committee has begun shopping for items for the gift baskets we will be providing to support low-income families and individuals with critical needs in the Santa Barbara area. The program is called Furnishing Hope and provides new residents of Housing Authority of City of Santa Barbara (HACSB) with a “Welcome Home Kit” of basic household items and donated furniture to help furnish their new home. So far, we have purchased laundry detergent, tooth brush and tooth paste, bedding set of sheets and pillow case, 2 in 1 shampoo, toilet paper, tissues, dish soap, hand soap and socks that will go into baskets for ten families.
The Coastal Quilters Guild of Santa Barbara/Goleta donated handmade quilts and the committee met to assemble the baskets.
