Important maintenance and infrastructure improvements made to our water project in 2025.
For more than a decade, our club has partnered with the communities of Cuajachillo Dos and Trinidad Central in Nicaragua to support sustainable, community-led development. One of the most transformative projects was the installation of a water delivery system serving 540 homes, eliminating the daily journeys by horse or ox cart that families once made to collect water.
In 2025, the local water committee established through this project made important maintenance and infrastructure improvements to protect and strengthen the system.

This year’s upgrades included:
- Installing a fence around the well and office for added security
- Constructing a new storeroom
- Painting both the storeroom and office buildings
- Installing a drop ceiling in the office
- Repairing and repainting the fence surrounding the repumping station

These improvements help safeguard equipment, extend the life of the infrastructure, and ensure the continued reliable delivery of clean water to hundreds of families.
Our International Service Committee is also exploring a future project to install a solar system for the new storeroom.
Over the past ten years, our partnership in Nicaragua has also included aquaponics systems for homes, schools, and municipal buildings; musical instruments for youth programs; dental and vision support for children; and ecological brigades that promote environmental education and eco-tourism.
