Bill Brown, Santa Barbara County Sheriff and Coroner, was honored with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition, Rotary’s highest honor.
 
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office was one of many agencies working collaboratively and providing critical services to our community during emergency situations like the recent Thomas Fire and Montecito Debris Flow Incident but also every day of the year.
 
Bill Brown has served as Santa Barbara County’s Sheriff-Coroner for the past 12 years. He was first elected on November 7, 2006, re-elected to a second term in June, 2010, re-elected to a third term in June, 2014, and re-elected again to a fourth term in June, 2018.
 
Joanne Schoenfeld honored Sheriff Bill Brown and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition for their critical efforts during and following the Thomas Fire and Montecito Debris Flow Incident.
 
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
 
Schoenfeld, a local real estate broker, past Club President, and 30-year Rotarian, stated, “On this anniversary of the most tragic day in Santa Barbara’s history, it was my  honor to present Sheriff Brown a Paul Harris fellow in recognition of his efforts dealing with this catastrophe. .”
