The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise embraced the holiday season through a mix of service and fellowship!

The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise embraced the holiday season through a mix of service and fellowship, supporting local nonprofits, celebrating community traditions, and enjoying time with one another.

The season began with Rotarians volunteering for the Salvation Army’s annual bell-ringing campaign. Stationed this year in the center of the popular downtown farmers market, members rang bells and greeted shoppers while raising funds that support vital programs for individuals and families in need throughout the community.

Rotarians also supported the arts and youth development by serving as ushers at the Grace Fisher Foundation Winter Showcase concert. Members welcomed guests and helped ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience as students and performers took the stage for this festive community event.

Continuing the spirit of service, Sunrise Rotarians volunteered their time answering phones during the Unity Shoppe Holiday Telethon, broadcast live on KEYT Channel 3. As thousands tuned in, volunteers helped process donations and support Unity Shoppe’s mission of providing dignity, resources, and hope to local families during the holidays.

Several members also participated in the living nativity at First United Methodist Church, taking on various roles to bring this beloved tradition to life. From acting parts to behind-the-scenes support, Rotarians helped create a meaningful experience for community members attending the event.

In addition to service, the club made time to celebrate the season together. Members enjoyed a festive holiday lights trolley ride, sharing laughter and conversation while taking in Santa Barbara’s seasonal displays.

The season concluded with the club’s annual holiday party at Harry’s Plaza Cafe, where members gathered to relax, connect, and celebrate another year of friendship and service. The evening offered a warm reminder that Rotary is not only about giving back, but also about the relationships that strengthen our ability to serve.
