Alt Education in Santa Barbara Unified School District

Sonia Amaral, Principal, La Cuesta School, will explain the different options and programs that the school district offers at three locations. We have programs of credit recovery, independent studies, senior plus programs as well as programs for expelled students.

 

Dr. Amaral holds a B.A Spanish/Bilingual Education from U.C. Irvine, M.A. in Education from Stanford University, an Ed.D in progress from USC in Educational Leadership. She has been in education for over 30 years. She started as a Spanish teacher and have spent the last 11 years of her career as an administrator. It is her 2nd year as the Principal for the Alt Ed programs in the district. She is passionate about what she does as her own daughter graduated from a continuation high school. Sonia lives in Ventura and outside of work she volunteers promoting a contemporary Christian radio station. She is also a member of the Big Bear Lake Rotary club.

 

Our club meetings are held both in person and in a virtual format. RSVP to joanne@santabarbaraliving.com by Tuesday at 9:30 if you can’t attend in person, otherwise we will need to pass the cost from the Santa Barbara Club on to you.

Meetings are held in person at the Santa Barbara Club with a breakfast buffet. (Fresh fruit and baked breads, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and bacon!) Fee to attend: $26.10.
