Ed Seaman is a high energy executive with a successful track record in regenerative agriculture and small sector business development. Ed is the General Manager of Restoration Oaks Ranch, the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Wild Farmlands Foundation and the Co-Owner/Operator of Santa Barbara Blueberries. Santa Barbara Blueberries is a family-owned sustainable UPick farm located in the Valley Oaks wilderness of the Santa Ynez Valley. Naturally grown fruit available now includes blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and specialty fruit from other small, sustainable farms. Santa Barbara Blueberries at Restoration Oaks Ranch is a 1,000 acre Cattle Ranch, Blueberry Farm, and Retreat Center located approximately 35 miles north of Santa Barbara. They have about 32,000 healthy, pesticide-free blueberry plants of varying ages that we open up to our U-Pick customers and to local green produce markets in season. They also offer blueberry jams and preserves, pesticide-free, wild honey, and other natural products grown on the ranch as they are available.

- We believe that field fresh natural or organic nutrition is always better than processed foods- especially, of course, when you get premium quality berries from Santa Barbara Blueberries.

There is something extraordinary about the grandeur of Restoration Oaks Ranch. Walking among the 18 acres of blueberry bushes nestled in between rolling hills of majestic oak trees is at once peaceful and exciting. Remarks like "Wow, look at the size of this one!" or "Mama, this one is red inside" can be heard during a blueberry-pickin' day. On a good day, you can easily pick 2.5 lbs. of blueberries in 15 minutes.

You may spot a magnificent red-tailed hawk soaring not so high overhead or, if you are lucky, a black-tailed deer grazing under the oaks outside the bird netting. We encourage our guests to taste the fruit right off the bush, and we guess some of the kids who come back to pay for their barely full bucket have more berries in their belly than the bucket, as evidenced by the blue tinge at the corner of their mouths. Excellent fun.

Opening day for our blueberry UPick season is different every year, although typically it's May or early June. From opening day, we will have 4 to 6 weeks of blueberries, then they are done for the season. If you show up on the 6th or 7th week, don't be surprised if the pickin' is slim to none.

Our UPick raspberries and blackberries will ripen in smaller quantities in mid to late June, with a full harvest sometime in July or August. Most years, they will keep producing through sometime in October. In the summer and early fall, we also offer exceptional stone fruits, berries, and other fun fruits from nearby organic farms.
